Moving Forward

As I continue to develop my story I’ve outlined a few paths for future release and growth. These plans try to reflect both practical and ideal opportunities I hope to pursue.

Platform and Launch Plans

Launching the series on Webtoon Canvas as a starting platform! This provides an opportunity to not only test the waters and gain some visibility, but it’s free and helps offer some community insight. I plan to roll out the episodes on a weekly basis after the thesis deadline, then go on hiatus again to finish the next batch. (Since I tend to work on a chapter-by-chapter basis, and each chapter is split into multiple episodes, it’s sustainable like a seasonal release.)

Target Audience

My primary audience consists of young adults and older teen audiences, ages 16-25, who enjoy character-driven fantasy stories with rich worldbuilding, complex emotional arcs, action, and morally gray themes. It hits those who are familiar with webtoons and webtoon culture, anime aesthetics, and Dungeons and Dragons, but with a palace intrigue twist!

Promotion and Social Media

I plan to use platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts to share artwork, maybe some behind-the-scenes content, and character highlights, as well as utilizing key “money-shot” moments from within the story to spark interest! I’ve already seen fast growth from just posting recording my screen, and sharing the chaos behind the story!

I also plan to engage with communities in Discord and Reddit related to fantasy and webcomics.

Monetization/Self-Hosting

I plan to create a Patreon and Ko-Fi for bonus content, early access to chapters, possibly merch, exclusive art/lore, and direct reader interaction. I also may continue to host and update this site as a hub for the series.

Industry and Pitching

I aim to pitch the story to companies like LINE Webtoon, Tapas, Tappytoon, and other webtoon hosting sites as these platforms align with my story’s format and genre and offer opportunities for broader reach!

Print Publishing

Down the line, I’m open to exploring print versions of the series! It would be a crazy milestone and not something I would want to focus on as a goal, but more like a physical keepsake to dedicated fans.
